The Higher Education Council (HEC) invites eligible Rwandan citizens to apply for the Commonwealth Master’s and PhD Scholarships 2027 for study in the United Kingdom.

For the 2027 intake, Rwanda may nominate 16 candidates for PhD scholarships and 10 candidates for Master’s scholarships.

Important: Being nominated by HEC does not guarantee final selection or placement by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the United Kingdom.

1. Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship 2027

  • Study Level: Master’s

  • Duration: 2 years

  • Study Location: United Kingdom

  • University: Any eligible UK university

  • Study Period: September 2027 – September 2029

  • Identity document

  • Evidence from a UK university

  • Proof of submitted CSC application

2. Commonwealth PhD Scholarship 2027

  • Study Level: PhD

  • Duration: 4 years

  • Study Location: United Kingdom

  • University: Any eligible UK university

  • Study Period: September 2027 – August 2031

Rwandan applicants are encouraged to complete the required applications and submit all supporting documents before the deadline.
