JOB ADVERTISMENT FOR NAEB VACANT POSITION FOR RECRUITMENT

The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) would like to recruit self-motivated and qualified candidates to fill the following position under contract.

  • POSITION: GIS SPECIALIST (1)

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Cartography or Architecture with a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in a similar position

Or

  • Master’s degree in Geography, Cartography or Architecture with a minimum of three (3) years of working experience in a similar position.



 

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Division Manager Planning, the GIS Specialist will perform the following duties: 

  • Identifying and advising on appropriate geo-spatial data innovations and technologies;
  • Supporting in designing and developing geospatial database;
  • Working in collaboration with respective staff to perform geospatial analysis, provide training and technical support to digitize appropriate thematic geospatial information;
  • Managing a centralized geospatial database system and operations;
  • Compiling data for statistics to incorporate into documents and reports;
  • Advising the institution on appropriate online and mobile maps for public and commercial consumption. Facilities’ maintenance, facilities use business case development, facilities; utilization market outreach and fresh produce quality control.
  • Extensive knowledge of spatial data infrastructure;
  • Working knowledge of GIS software (plotters, GPS devises, Digitizers);
  • Strong GIS skills with two or more GIS packages and WEB GIS;
  • Solid knowledge of computer;
  • Database and Management Information System;
  • Experience in coordination exercises and data management;
  • Ability to be a good listener;
  • Possess good documentation attributes and skills;
  • Oral and Written communication skills;
  • Fluent in English and/or French
