Job Title: E-Channels Supervisor
Reports to: Enterprise Application Manager
Department: Information Technology
Purpose of the Role
The job holder is responsible for designing and delivering robust, secure, and scalable e-Channel applications especially Internet and Mobile Banking by leading the full software development lifecycle, driving technical excellence, and aligning technology solutions with the bank's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. She/He is responsible for the administration, maintenance, availability, performance and advanced support of the bank's e-channel applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer full digital product lifecycle from discovery to optimization and maintenance.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of e-channels include but not limited to Mobile & Mobile Banking (with USSD).
- Monitor channel’s transaction success rates, response times, system capacity to optimize availability.
- Constant development of initiatives that promote accessibility, usability and consistency across e-banking channels.
- Design channel requirements, evaluate development dependencies, review BRDs and FRDs to guide and align solutioning.
- Troubleshoot & resolve e-channels incidents and service disruptions within bank’s SLA.
- Act as advanced resources for support of e-channels’ related issues by analysing root causes, coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
- Ensure e-banking application’s logs are regularly maintained and saved for future reference.
- Create, modify, and revoke user accounts and profiles for e-channels applications by adhering to user management policy.
- Manage, assess and implement approved application changes.
- Install and manage e-channels releases in accordance with change management procedures.
- Manage relationships with e-channels vendors.
- Work with internal IT teams to ensure digital solutions are scalable to support increasing transaction volumes.
- Ensures service level agreement (SLA) with vendors are met.
- Ensure e-channels comply with application regulations and compliance.
- Constant identification of e-channel’s bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing exercises.
- Ensure applications are recoverable within the agreed Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO).
- Be ready to provide support during late hours, holidays, and weekends in response to needs of the systems being supported or as per planned roaster or in case of emergency.
- Ensure application security standards are implemented and maintained.
- Maintain application architecture and operational documentation.
- Maintain software application information confidentiality strictly.
- Ensure compliance with bank Policies and Information Technology Procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in software development, APIs Development and Deployment, or any other related field.
- Have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in banking technology, digital banking or digital payment.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in writing front and backend scripts.
- Hands-on and proven experience in troubleshooting Java, C++ codes related issues.
- Hands-on in configure and manage e-channels applications.
- Experience in developing and expose APIs is an added advantage.
- Advanced knowledge in modern programming languages like: Python, Java Script, Java, SQL, Oracle etc.
- Knowledge of oriented object programming.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of RDBMS for data analysis.
- Knowledge of banking systems integrations.
- Numeric, oral, and written language applications.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Ability to collaborate easily and effectively within a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
