The End User Support Engineer is responsible for providing first – and second – level IT support to end users across MTN offices and service centers. The role ensures availability, maintenance, and operational efficiency of end – user devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, and related IT equipment. The engineer will support staff both in Kigali and upcountry and ensure the timely resolution of IT incidents while maintaining accurate IT asset records.
1. End User Support
• Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, network, printer, and system -related issues.
• Respond to and resolve user requests and incidents. Sensitivity: MTN Internal
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
• Support users remotely and onsite across Kigali and upcountry service centers
• Keep and comply with information, security requirements, and obligations
• Provide IT support, ensuring business continuity and minimum downtime.
• Ensure operational readiness of IT devices supporting customer services.
2. IT Asset & Workstation Management
• Maintain accurate inventory records of desktops and laptops, printers, and other IT assets.
• Track workstation allocation, movement, repair history, and lifecycle management
3. Incident & Request Management
• Log, track, and follow up on IT incidents and service requests.
• Escalate unresolved issues to relevant teams or vendors when necessary.
• Provide timely communication and updates to users regarding issue resolution.
4. Preventive Maintenance
• Perform preventive maintenance for desktops, laptops, printers, and accessories.
• Ensure software updates, antivirus compliance, and system health checks are conducted regularly.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend permanent solutions.
5. 24/7 Operational Support
• Be available to provide IT support in a 24/7 operational environment, including weekends, public holidays, and emergency situations when required.
• Support business – critical incidents to minimize operational disruption.
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
. • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel frequently to service centers and remote locations.
• High sense of ownership, accountability, and availability.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields .
• Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, and enterprise environments.
• Experience in telecom or large enterprise environments is an added advantage.
