Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Support the Ministry of Health in developing and implementing policies, strategies, and action plans related to NCDs and mental health.
Strengthen prevention and management programs for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, sickle cell disease, oral health, eye and ear health, violence, injuries, and mental health conditions.
Provide technical guidance in developing clinical guidelines, protocols, and training materials.
Build national and district-level capacity for delivering quality NCD and mental health services.
Support data collection, research, monitoring, evaluation, and surveillance activities.
Promote partnerships and multi-sectoral collaboration among stakeholders.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and policy documents.
Provide technical assistance to government institutions and development partners.
Required Qualifications
Education
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Medicine.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Program Management, Internal Medicine, or related fields.
Experience
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public health program planning and implementation.
Preferred:
Experience working with WHO, United Nations agencies, or other international health organizations.
Required Skills
Candidates should demonstrate:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of NCD prevention, management, surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation.
Experience in policy development, advocacy, and partnership building.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Language Requirements
Required:
Excellent English communication skills.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of French.
