Job Purpose
The First Officer (Co-Pilot) will assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in the safe and efficient operation of flights on the Boeing 737, Airbus A330, or Dash 8 Q400 fleet.
The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with aviation regulations, company operational manuals, and international safety standards while contributing to safe, efficient, and professional flight operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a First Officer, you will:
Flight Operations
Assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in conducting safe and efficient flights.
Perform assigned duties in accordance with Flight Deck Management procedures.
Monitor all stages of flight operations.
Maintain awareness of the PIC's intentions throughout the flight.
Flight Monitoring
Monitor the aircraft's flight path continuously.
Immediately notify the PIC of:
Deviations from the planned flight path.
Non-compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Any potentially hazardous situations.
Safety Responsibilities
Follow all company safety procedures.
Report hazards, incidents, and operational occurrences.
Promote a strong safety culture within Flight Operations.
Emergency Decision Making
When acting as Pilot-in-Command during an emergency requiring immediate action:
Take necessary operational decisions.
Deviate from procedures when required to ensure flight safety.
Regulatory Compliance
Maintain knowledge of:
Rwandan aviation regulations.
International aviation legislation.
Company Operations Manuals.
Standard aviation procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
Valid ICAO, EASA, or FAA Pilot License.
Valid First-Class Medical Certificate.
Radio Telephony License (or endorsement on pilot license).
Valid aircraft Type Rating for:
Boeing 737 (B737)
Airbus A330
Dash 8 Q400
ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.
No history of aviation accidents or incidents caused by gross negligence.
Minimum 1,500 total flying hours.
At least 500 flying hours on aircraft type.
