About the Role
The Assistant Manager – Risk & Compliance will support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's financial and non-financial risk management and compliance frameworks.
The successful candidate will work closely with management, business units, and the Board Risk Committee to identify risks, assess their potential impact, develop mitigation strategies, monitor compliance, and ensure that appropriate controls are embedded across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks;
-
Coordinating and improving risk management across departments;
-
Reviewing internal and external audit reports and following up on identified risks and control weaknesses;
-
Monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and responding to adverse trends;
-
Following up on internal audit recommendations;
-
Assessing compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls;
-
Coordinating annual risk scenarios and testing;
-
Recording risk incidents and conducting root-cause analysis;
-
Maintaining operational loss data and related databases.
Risk & Control Self-Assessment
The role will also involve:
-
Coordinating the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework;
-
Working with business and support units to strengthen risk management capabilities;
-
Supporting continuous risk identification and assessment;
-
Monitoring timely completion of RCSA and KRI returns;
-
Following up on management actions designed to mitigate identified risks;
-
Supporting the development and review of organizational policies and procedures.
Business Continuity Management
The Assistant Manager will help to:

Implement the company's Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework;
-
Review and update BCM programs and tools;
-
Ensure Business Continuity Plans are tested according to schedule;

Support BCM training for employees.
Compliance Management
Key compliance responsibilities include:

Identifying, assessing, mitigating, reporting, and escalating operational and compliance risks;

Keeping up to date with relevant laws and regulations;
-
Monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies;

Advising management and the Board on compliance and regulatory risks;

Promoting a strong culture of compliance across departments;

Ensuring AML and KYC policies are implemented and followed;

Supporting timely reporting of suspicious transactions;

Advising management on ways to strengthen internal controls and reduce compliance risks.
Management Risk Committee
The successful candidate will also:
Financial Risk Management
Responsibilities will include:

Reviewing and updating financial risks;

Monitoring risk limits and related controls;

Ensuring appropriate risk escalation mechanisms are established and used;

Defining and monitoring financial risk mitigation actions;

Identifying emerging financial risks and implementing appropriate responses;

Monitoring external market indicators and developments;
-
Providing meaningful commentary for financial risk reports;

Conducting staff training to improve financial risk awareness.
Education & Professional Qualifications
