POSITION HEALTH SPECIALIST (1) Job Title : Health Care Specialist Position Supervisor : Refugee Program Manager Classification Level : 3.VI Location : Kigali Position Timeline : 3-years renewable upon good performance result JOB PURPOSE The Health care Specialist will be responsible for coordinating health related interventions for asylum seekers, refugees, returnees and other people in need of humanitarian assistance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager the Health care Specialist will perform the following duties: • Disease Prevention & Health Promotion: Developing and implementing care plans, and monitoring and evaluating their progress and outcomes • Designing and managing programs to reduce risks and promote healthy behaviours. • Data Analysis & Surveillance: Monitoring health trends, assessing community needs, and using data to inform decisions. • Policy Development: Creating and implementing public health regulations and strategies. • Community Outreach & Education: Organizing workshops and awareness campaigns to educate the public. • Collaboration: Liaising with government agencies, private sector, NGOs, and healthcare providers to provide health services to refugees. • Emergency Response: Participating in the planning and response to community health emergencies. • Service Coordination: Facilitate referrals to appropriate healthcare facilities, specialists, mental health services, and social support services. • Compliance and Safeguarding: Ensure all health activities comply with relevant health policies, protocols, and humanitarian standards. QUALIFICATIONS: • Education: Bachelor in Public Health (MPH), health policy, with 5 years of related experience. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT • Expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policies. • Abilities to assessing and analyzing health conditions within an environment and recommending new processes or solutions to improve the health of Refugees • Act as a link between the patient and the broader healthcare team, ensuring that all necessary services, appointments, tests, and medications are organized and communicated effectively
