PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Digital Instructor delivers hands-on, market-relevant digital skills training to refugee and host community youth, equipping them with the technical and practical competencies needed to access employment, freelancing and remote-work opportunities. The role blends classroom facilitation with mentorship, project-based learning and portfolio development, ensuring at least 60% of learners are women and girls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Delivery
- Facilitate foundational and intermediate digital skills sessions (coding, web fundamentals, AI assisted tools, no-code platforms, digital productivity) using a competency-based, learner centered approach.
- Design and run project-based learning activities so learners graduate with real portfolios, not just certificates.
- Integrate modern, in-demand tools — AI assistants, cloud-based collaboration, version control and design software — into everyday instruction.
- Adapt content and pace for mixed-ability, multilingual classrooms and for learners with limited prior exposure to technology.
Mentorship & Learner Support
- Provide one-to-one and small-group mentorship, tracking each learner’s progress and readiness for internships or remote work.
- Actively reduce barriers to participation for women and girls, in coordination with Field Assistants and childcare/stipend support.
- Foster peer-learning networks and a supportive, inclusive classroom culture.
Quality & Coordination
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and progress records for donor reporting and MEAL.
- Contribute to curriculum review with the Rwanda ICT Chamber, STEM Power and employer partners to keep tracks aligned with labour-market demand and Rwanda TVET standards
- Support graduation, demo days and employer-facing showcases.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, ICT, Education or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching or delivering digital/coding skills, ideally to youth or in non-formal settings.
- Strong practical command of at least one area: web development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript), programming fundamentals, or digital productivity & AI tools.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
PREFERRED / ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Experience working in refugee, humanitarian or underserved-community contexts.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development, no-code/low-code platforms, or freelancing marketplaces.
- TVET or trainer certification.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The RLO Partnership & Training Officer leads the programme’s localisation agenda — identifying, mentoring and strengthening Refugee-Led Organisations (RLOs) so they become active, capable contributors within Rwanda’s digital livelihoods ecosystem. The role progressively channels technical support and responsibility to RLOs, positioning refugee communities as co-creators of solutions rather than passive beneficiaries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mapping & Partnership
- Identify, map and assess RLOs supporting (or with potential to support) digital livelihoods across Mahama and Nyabiheke.
- Establish partnership agreements and progressively channel technical support and resources to at least 2 RLOs.
- Position RLOs within the wider ecosystem, including exposure to external actors, employers and innovation partners.
Capacity Strengthening
- Deliver mentoring and organisational capacity building in financial management, safeguarding, monitoring & evaluation, and partnership development.
- Support RLOs to design and pilot locally led digital livelihood initiatives.
- Accompany RLOs technically as they take on greater implementation responsibility.
Coordination & Reporting
- Facilitate learning exchanges between RLOs, youth, employers and ecosystem actors.
- Ensure RLO activities uphold gender inclusion, safeguarding and community-cohesion standards.
- Document progress, lessons and outcomes for MEAL and donor reporting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development, Organisational Development or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in capacity building, community mobilisation, partnerships or civil society/organisational development.
- Demonstrated experience working with community-based or refugee-led organisations.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and strong English; additional refugee-community languages an asset.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Track Delivery
- Teach graphic design and visual communication using industry-standard and AI-assisted tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe/Figma, Freepik, generative-AI design assistants).
- Deliver digital content-creation modules: social media content, short-form video, photography basics, storytelling and personal branding.
- Guide learners to build a professional online portfolio and presence suitable for freelance marketplaces and remote clients.
- Keep content current with fast-moving creative and AI trends so learners graduate with marketable, in-demand skills.
Applied & Portfolio Work
- Set real-world briefs (e.g. producing content for RLOs, community businesses, or programme visibility) so learners practise on live projects.
- Coach learners on pricing, client communication and delivering creative work remotely.
Inclusion & Coordination
- Prioritise accessible, flexible delivery that lowers barriers for women, girls and first-time learners.
- Track attendance, outputs and portfolio completion for MEAL and donor reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrable professional experience in graphic design and/or digital content creation, with a strong personal portfolio.
- Proficiency in current design and content tools, including at least one AI-assisted creative tool.
- Prior experience teaching, coaching or facilitating creative skills (formal or informal).
- Good communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.

The Career Orientation Officer drives the transition from training to income — securing internships, employer placements, remote-work and freelance opportunities for programme graduates. The role owns employer engagement, placement support, and alumni mentorship, with a target of 50 placements and expanded employer co-investment and international/remote pathways.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employer Engagement & Placements
- Build and manage relationships with private-sector employers, tech companies, innovation hubs and intermediaries to secure internships and jobs.
- Facilitate and track at least 50 internship/employment placements across the programme period.
- Develop employer co-investment (match-funding) models that progressively shift placements toward sustainable, employer-funded opportunities.
- Proactively explore international employer and online-work intermediary partnerships to unlock remote and freelance placements that overcome camp-based geographic limits. Employability & Career Coaching
- Run career-orientation and coaching sessions: CV and portfolio development, interview preparation, workplace communication and freelancing readiness.
- Prepare graduates for remote work — client communication, platform onboarding and digital payment setup.
