About the Fellowship

Applications are open for the World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship 2027, an international professional development opportunity designed for government officials who want to improve public administration through data-driven decision-making.

The fellowship helps public servants use administrative records, survey data, and other government information to identify institutional challenges, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen public service delivery.

Selected fellows will develop a Government Analytics project addressing a real administrative challenge within their organization, with guidance from international experts and opportunities to collaborate with government professionals and researchers.

Benefits of the Fellowship

Successful applicants may benefit from:

  • Travel support: Air travel for eligible participants attending the in-person component.

  • Accommodation: Hotel expenses covered for eligible participants.

  • Subsistence support: Eligible living expenses during the in-person fellowship.

  • Professional training: Practical skills in government analytics and data-informed administration.

  • Expert mentorship: Guidance from specialists whose expertise aligns with the proposed project.

  • Project development: Support in developing a practical project relevant to the applicant’s institution.

  • International networking: Opportunities to connect with government professionals, researchers, and international experts.

The travel, accommodation, and subsistence support applies to eligible participants from official development assistance (ODA)-eligible countries attending the in-person component, subject to the program’s conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:
