CALL FOR THE SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION IN HEALTH PROGRAMS-SEPTEMBER INTAKE 2026

Catholic University of Rwanda in collaboration with Ministry of Health in the framework of 4X4 Strategy is excited to announce the funded scholarship opportunities (Tuition fees only) for Nursing and Midwifery programs. Prospective candidates are invited to apply for the following programs:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honours
  2. Bachelor of Science in Midwifery with Honours

Application Period: From 28th August to 11th September 2026.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the admission test on a date that will be communicated later

Eligibility Criteria:

Completed general secondary education with one of the following principal subjects:

  • Physics-Chemistry-Biology
  • Mathematics-Chemistry-Biology,
  • Biology-Chemistry-Geography and
  • Associate Nursing Programs.

Note:

  • The candidate should have At least Grade E in Biology and Chemistry (for the candidates who completed secondary school from 2024 onwards).
  • At least grade C in Biology and Chemistry (for the candidates who completed secondary school before the 2024).
  • A2 Nurses should have a minimum of 60% marks and Grade E in in both biology and Chemistry or in Fundamentals of Nursing and Clinical attachment.

Admission Test and Selection process:

Candidates who meet minimum admission requirements as per HEC as well as institutional requirements will sit for an admission test. Final selection of the scholarship beneficiaries will be based on the admission test score

Note:

  1. Final selected students to benefit the scholarships will sign a contract agreement with MoH to ensure their absorption into the health system after their graduation of which they will be required to serve for a minimum period of time.
  2. Students currently receiving another scholarship funded by the Government or its partners are not eligible to apply.
