Erasmus Mundus MARIHE Scholarship 2027 Now Open

Applications are now open for the Erasmus Mundus MARIHE Scholarship 2027, a prestigious fully funded master's scholarship designed for students worldwide who aspire to build careers in higher education, research, and innovation.

The Master in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programme that provides an international learning experience across Europe and Asia. Students study at leading universities while gaining practical knowledge in higher education governance, policy, research, and innovation management.

The programme is jointly delivered by universities from Austria, China, Finland, Germany, Hungary, India, and Portugal, preparing graduates for leadership positions in universities, research institutions, governments, and international organizations.

Successful applicants may receive:

Erasmus Mundus Full Scholarship

  • Full tuition fees
  • €1,400 monthly stipend
  • Travel allowance

Tuition Fee Scholarship

Applicants may also receive:

  • Full tuition fee waiver
  • Worldwide insurance
  • Erasmus+ mobility funding (where applicable)
  • Additional financial support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds or first-generation university students

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (minimum three years) in any discipline.
  • Demonstrate strong interest in higher education, research, and innovation.
  • Meet the English language requirements.
  • Be highly motivated and academically qualified.

English Language Requirement

Applicants may be exempt from submitting an English language test if their previous higher education was completed entirely in English in approved countries.

Selection Process

Applications are evaluated through a two-stage review process.

Each application is independently assessed by two reviewers from different partner universities based on:

  • Academic performance
  • Motivation
  • Programme suitability
  • Leadership potential
  • Personal skills

Final admission decisions are made by the MARIHE Admission Board.
