Job Opportunity: Coordinator for Lifeline Emergency Medical Service & First Aid Training Center

Location: RRC Headquarters, Gasabo, Kacyiru

Duration:ย One year, renewable

1. Position Overview:

The Rwanda Red Cross seeks a Coordinator to oversee the Lifeline Emergency Medical Service and First Aid Training Center. This role involves managing pre-hospital care, ensuring program sustainability, and enhancing emergency care services across Rwanda.

2. Key Responsibilities:ย 

2.1.ย Operations Coordination:

  • Manage daily operations of Lifeline EMS, ensuring timely and safe pre-hospital care.
  • ย Supervise EMS personnel and assist in licensing and certification processes.
  • ย Address incidents and implement performance improvements.

2.2.Quality Assurance.ย 

  • Ensure quality and compliance with national standards in pre-hospital care and training.
  • Conduct routine assessments of services and equipment.

2.3.ย Capacity Building.

  • Provide ongoing education and training for EMS staff.
  • ย Align training programs with Rwanda Red Cross and national standards.

2.4Sustainability.

  • Develop cost recovery services and manage First Aid training for revenue generation.
  • ย Identify partnerships and fundraising opportunities.

2.5.Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate with stakeholders and the public regarding services and needs.
  • Organize coordination meetings with partners and agencies.

2.6. Emergency Response

  • Coordinate EMS resources during disasters and integrate into national plans.
  • ย Support preparedness training and exercises.

3. Qualifications:ย 

  • Minimum 3 years in the medical field.
  • Advanced Life Support or, Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support certification (preferred)
  • ย Knowledge of Rwandaโ€™s healthcare regulations.
  • ย Strong organizational and communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English.
