PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Technical Leadership and Program Quality
- Provide technical oversight for GBV and CP programming in line with UNHCR, IASC GBV Guidelines, and CP Minimum Standards.
- Ensure survivor-centered approaches (safety, confidentiality, dignity, non-discrimination).
- Lead development and implementation of SOPs for GBV and CP services.
- Oversee GBV case management and Child Protection case management including BIA and BID processes.
- Provide technical guidance on complex protection cases and referrals.
- Ensure quality assurance of all protection interventions in the camp.
2.Program Planning and Procurement
- Lead development of annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans for protection programming.
- Develop and monitor procurement plans in coordination with supply chain and finance teams.
- Ensure timely implementation of planned activities and budget alignment.
- Strengthen protection mainstreaming across all sectors including health, education, and livelihoods.
3.Team Supervision and Management
- Directly supervise Protection Officers, GBV Officers, Child Protection Officers, Caseworkers, and Community-Based Protection Officers.
- Conduct regular performance management, coaching, and mentorship sessions.
- Ensure adherence to case management standards, ethical guidelines, and confidentiality principles.
- Provide technical support and oversight on high-risk cases.
- Promote staff wellbeing, duty of care, and prevention of burnout and secondary trauma.
4.SASA! Approach Implementation.
- Lead implementation of the SASA! methodology (Start, Awareness, Support, Action phases).
- Ensure quality facilitation by SASA! community activists and field teams.
- Monitor social norms change and prevention outcomes.
- Integrate SASA! into broader GBV prevention and community engagement strategies.
5.Coordination and Representation.
- Represent Alight in Protection Working Groups, GBV Sub-Working Groups, and Child Protection coordination forums.
- Maintain strong coordination with UNHCR, government authorities, and implementing partners.

6.Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

7.Community-Based Protection

8.Reporting and Program Development

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Rights, International Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in humanitarian protection programming.
- Demonstrated experience in GBV and Child Protection programming and case management.

1. GBV Case Management (Core Function)
- Receive, safely identify, and manage GBV disclosures through ethical and confidential procedures.
- Conduct survivor-centered intake and comprehensive case assessments.
- Develop and implement individual GBV case action plans in collaboration with survivors.
- Provide continuous case follow-up, monitoring, and documentation of progress.
- Ensure safe and timely case closure in accordance with GBV case management standards.
2. Safety Planning and Risk Assessment
- Conduct confidential risk assessments to determine level of danger and urgency.
- Develop and implement individualized safety plans with survivors at high risk.
- Ensure immediate protection actions for high-risk and life-threatening cases.
3. Referral and Service Coordination
- Facilitate timely referrals to health services (including clinical management of rape), psychosocial support, legal aid, and shelter services.
- Maintain updated knowledge of GBV referral pathways within Mahama Camp.
- Follow up referred cases to ensure access, continuity of care, and service quality.
- Coordinate with health providers and protection actors for emergency response cases.
4. Psychosocial Support (Case Level Only)
- Provide basic psychosocial support and emotional first aid (PFA) to survivors.
- Maintain a safe, confidential, and supportive environment during all interactions.
- Identify cases requiring specialized mental health support and refer accordingly.
5. Documentation and Data Management
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure GBV case files.
- Ensure compliance with GBV Information Management System (GBVIMS) principles and data protection protocols.
- Update case management records in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to informed consent and confidentiality standards at all times.
6 .Coordination and Reporting.
- Report regularly to the Protection Coordinator on case progress, urgent risks, and service gaps.
- Participate in case review meetings and internal protection coordination sessions.
- Work closely with Child Protection Caseworkers for cases involving children at risk of GBV.
- Contribute to internal reporting and case trend summaries (without breaching confidentiality)
7. Protection Ethics and Safeguarding
- Uphold strict adherence to survivor-centered approach principles at all times.
- Ensure do no harm principles, confidentiality, and informed consent are fully respected.
- Comply with PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) policies and safeguarding standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, or related field.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in GBV case management in humanitarian settings.
- Strong knowledge of:
- IASC GBV Case Management Guidelines
- Survivor-centered approach and confidentiality standards
- GBV referral pathways and service coordination systems
- Experience in refugee or emergency contexts is highly desirable.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Driver will technically support the implementation of programs in accordance with ALIGHT Rwanda annual work plan and as per administrative/transportation regulations and standard operating procedures. He/she will be responsible for transporting program, administrative and refugee staff by vehicle with ALIGHT areas of operation.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive office vehicles for the transportation of ALIGHT staff and visitors with other authorized personnel
- Transport ALIGHT goods to their destination in a safe, responsible and timely manner
- Collection and delivery of mail, documents and other courier items in a safe, responsible and timely manner
- Ensure that all assignments and trips are authorized, embarked on and completed on time, with all travel and delivery requirements as per the office standards
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles including checking the oil, water, battery, brakes, tires etc. and log them in the start-of-the-day checklist
- Perform minor repairs and/or arrange for other repairs by logging and urgently reporting to the supervisor
- Ensure that vehicles are driven safely, optimizing engines use, economizing fuel as well as minimizing wear and tear
- Report all vehicle maintenance problems, incidents, accidents and damage using official forms immediately to the supervisor
- Guard vehicle against theft and vandals and ensure that vehicles are locked and parked in the officially assigned locations
- Ensure that the steps required by ALIGHT rules and regulations are taken into consideration in case of involvement in an incident or accident or damage to the vehicle
- Appropriately log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing etc. using the official ALIGHT /UNHCR log books
- Submit assigned vehicle performance and activities accounted for at the end of every week to the supervisor
- Maintain vehicle safety standards as per the ALIGHT driver’s guidelines at all times
- Ensure full accountability for time, assignments and activities on a weekly basis to the supervisor
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle at all times
- Respect the speed limits and obey all other Rwanda traffic laws when driving ALIGHT vehicles
- Be available to work longer hours, after hours and weekends, and when necessary or in an emergency
- Assist in loading and unloading of vehicles when necessary
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor, or any other ALIGHT Senior Manager.
EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- High school diploma
- Valid Rwanda driver’s license Level B&D
- Demonstrated understanding of transportation law
- Excellent driving skills with minimum 3 years’ experience as driving with good driving record
- Experience in driving through the remote parts of the country
- Good judgment in traffic and knowledge of traffic patterns
- Good knowledge about car mechanics
- Good in communication in English; local language skills preferable
- Holder of qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs desired

The Caseworker works closely with Child Protection Officers, community structures, and service providers to ensure timely, safe, and appropriate responses to children in need of protection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Case Identification and Registration
- Identify vulnerable children and child protection cases through outreach, referrals, and community-based mechanisms.

- Maintain updated referral pathways and service mapping.
4.Psychosocial Support
- Provide structured psychosocial support to children and caregivers.
- Facilitate access to child-friendly spaces and safe support environments.
- Promote resilience and coping mechanisms among vulnerable children.
5.Case Documentation and Data Management
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential case records in line with CPIMS+ or equivalent systems.
- Ensure data protection and confidentiality standards are strictly followed.
- Contribute to reporting, case tracking, and information management systems.
6.Best Interest Determination (BID)
- Support and participate in Best Interest Determination processes for unaccompanied and separated children.
- Contribute relevant case information for decision-making processes.
7.Home Visits and Follow-Up
- Conduct home visits and follow-up visits to assess child safety and wellbeing.
- Monitor protection risks and report urgent concerns immediately.
8.Coordination and Collaboration
- Work closely with Child Protection Officers, caseworkers, community volunteers, and partner agencies.
- Participate in case conferencing, coordination meetings, and protection working groups.
- Strengthen referral networks and collaborative responses.
9.Protection Monitoring and Reporting
- Identify protection trends, gaps, and emerging risks affecting children.
- Contribute to protection monitoring reports and program updates.
- Alert supervisors on urgent or high-risk cases.
10.Safeguarding and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to child safeguarding, PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), and confidentiality standards.
- Promote a safe and respectful environment for children at all times.
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately according to organizational procedures.
